Objective - The objective of the programme is to strengthen the capacity of local organizations to meet the needs and rights of the affected and reduce stigma and discrimination experienced by the infected and affected families through volunteers.
What we do
In slums and other low income areas, NAVNET is working with volunteers to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS through effective care, prevention efforts, and advocacy through:
Nursing care: The volunteer nurses provide nursing care to People Living with HIV /AIDS (PLWHAS). The home based HIV / AIDS caregivers are trained to provide care, promote and maintain good health, hygiene, and nutrition for PLWHAS and children orphaned by AIDS.

Psycho-spiritual support and counseling: Community psychological and spiritual counselors are trained by professional volunteers to ensure that they are always there for the clients. This psycho-spiritual support and counseling is done to relieve stress, anxiety, promote positive living, and help individuals to make informed decisions on HIV testing, plan for future and involve sexual partners in such discussions

.Clinical care: The programme involve the health centers and dispensaries in programme areas for monitoring of the processes and procedures for early diagnosis of illness, rational treatment and planning for follow up care of HIV related ailment. Volunteer professional doctors are involved in facilitating this exercise.
